A trip there and back or two.

A-Tonal Soul (Antonio Hobson) was scheduled to play a little diddy, as advertised on this flyer in social media and around. He’s a joy to watch and listen to. The hope was to pull some good audio with our new sound gear along with some cool video.

The day prior, we had left our Mystery Van lunchbox with our camera and audio recorder with Wesley. He’s the one on the right making sparks.

“He will be the one dressed to be seen and playing a saxophone.”

While Zay and dude went to go watch and listen, I messed around with the drone. It was still some sunset and it was a good location for footage. As would happen, the brand new SD card was bad and so we got not much for footage from the sky but Zay got some good stuff and the whole of Main street around there enjoyed the saxaphone.

A-Tonal packed up his things and caught up with people for a minute before his next gig and getting ready for the busy life of being a music teacher around here.

About soon after, an older gentleman started playing guitar and singing and telling stories. Mr. Blue Cheese is his name. Zay had set up the camera and was recording while I messed with whatever. Then he and dude played Mario Kart and we ordered food and listened.

You can go see Mr. Blue Cheese most Friday evenings at Westy’s on Main Street. We got to talking and he said to meet him back there at noon the next day so we could maybe get some of his stuff recorded and out there.

“I need help with the internet and they want to take too much.”

I figured we would do it just because and as a way to learn.

The next day came and I got a chance to make it back downtown by shortly after noon.

Mr. Cheese was not there and I waited for a little while to speak to someone to leave a contact but it was Friday and the owner was doing payroll work.

On my way back to the vehicle, I spotted a gentleman moving boxes and doing back of the house work. We spoke for a minute and I gave him my contact and then he dropped his knowledge.

I hopped back in the car to figure out construction traffic and the way home and the DJ Superman was doing his thing.
